Take the Metro-North to Beacon and find yourself in hipster paradise. But really, hipsters are pretty good at stuff so don’t let that put you off. (Metro North has a getaway package that includes admission to Dia:Beacon, find it here)
I imagine you didn’t wake up at the crack of dawn so by the time you get to Beacon, it will probably be time for lunch. Get lunch at Harry’s Hot Sandwiches. The sandwiches here are so good. SO GOOD. The pulled pork and the Cubano are my faves.
Digest by strolling down Main St in Beacon. There are many different antique stores to pop into. Beacon Bath and Bubble has soda and soap (get it?). Utensil Kitchenware has lots of interesting kitchen gadgets. End your stroll by hitting up Beacon Pantry and get some tasty tasty cheese and charcuterie.
Next up is Dia:Beacon. This might be one of my favorite art museums on the East Coast. The exhibits are extremely well-curated and there is just enough art to be interesting but not so much that you are overwhelmed. Definitely recommend sitting on the grounds and enjoying the cheese and charcuterie you got.
Have dinner at Kitchen Sink Food & Drink. I love rhymes but more importantly I love burrata and they have a great main featuring it with eggplant. All of their food is made from really fresh ingredients and the atmosphere is very relaxed.
Hope you enjoyed the excursion to Beacon!
